Hi! We’re Marta & Nathan, the couple behind The Northfork Estate here in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Nothing brings us more joy than helping couples celebrate their love in our little slice of countryside paradise. Your dream wedding, your special moments – that’s what we live and work hard for.
When we first said “sure” to a family member’s casual inquiry about hosting their potential wedding here, we never imagined we’d end up owning one of the most sought-after wedding and event venues in the Lansing, Michigan area. But life has a funny way of surprising you, doesn’t it?

How We Started The Northfork Estate
That initial request planted a seed, and a few years later, it blossomed into reality when we hosted that family wedding. Even then, The Northfork Estate wasn’t on our radar – we were simply providing a beautiful location for our loved ones to tie the knot.
Everything changed in March 2015 when Nathan proposed to me, on one of the frozen ponds on the property.
That magical moment inspired us to transform our riding arena into a wedding venue, cementing the floors and our future plans in one go.
Nathan and I were the first couple to say “I do” in the Hall at The Northfork Estate.
Our wedding day was everything we’d dreamed of, surrounded by our chosen vendors and beloved family. That experience became the cornerstone of our philosophy: everyone who gets married here should have the wedding of their dreams, not ours ––We’ve already had ours!
Our own wedding day taught us valuable lessons that we now pass on to our couples.
We learned the hard way about the importance of having a solid Plan B (it poured on our big day, leaving our wedding party at a loss!) and reliable day-of coordination (ours unfortunately left after the ceremony, leaving us adrift). We’re now strong advocates for thorough planning and coordination, ensuring no couple faces the challenges we did. We’ve been incredibly blessed with an amazing staff. Every team member genuinely cares about you and your special day.

I can’t recommend The Northfork Estate enough!
Looking for the perfect wedding venue can be very stressful! From the moment we booked our tour with Northfork, to arriving for the tour, the tour itself we knew that this was where we wanted to get married. A couple of our favorite things were of course Marta and her team, but that the pricing was very clear, and everything that was included in each package was amazing. Compared to other places, with add ons can get a bit overwhelming. Marta has been so helpful in the planning process!
