6 Activities to Enhance Your Eaton Rapids Wedding Weekend

Turn your Eaton Rapids wedding into a full weekend experience!

When you think about wedding celebrations, you tend to picture romantic vows, vibrant dance floors, and lavish meals. But, the modern wedding is about far more than just a ceremony and a reception. Instead, couples are embracing full wedding weekend experiences with activities that highlight all the area has to offer. While visiting for an Eaton Rapids wedding at The Northfork Estate, couples and their guests can take in the beautiful scenery, top-notch cuisine, and cultural activities that make a weekend to remember.

Here are six activities to consider doing over the weekend of your Eaton Rapids wedding.

1. Go bar hopping on Main Street.

For those partial to a good meal and a cocktail, you don’t have to go far to indulge. Head over to Main Street for a variety of culinary options. Grab a drink at Eaton Rapids Craft Co. then get a table for dinner at T&D Coney, Mr. M’s, or Darb’s Patio. Finish the night up with some ice cream from Moo-ville and a pleasant walk through Island Park!

2. Head for the water.

With Grand River running right through the center of Eaton Rapids, there’s no reason not to take advantage of our water access. It’s in the city’s name, after all! Bring your fishing poles, rent a kayak or canoe from the Eaton Rapids Outdoor Recreation Center, or bring some bread crumbs to feed the many ducks and geese that call Mill Pointe Park home.

3. Reconnect with nature at Crandell Park.

Just 15 minutes from The Northfork Estate, Crandell Park is home to over 400 acres of preserved nature. Outdoorsy folks will love this hidden gem, whether they love to hike, fish, kayak, or birdwatch. Even those who aren’t inclined towards outdoor activities will appreciate a chance to sit by the tranquil Crandall Lake and observe wildlife while visiting for your Eaton Rapids wedding.

4. Take a cooking class at Le Chat Gourmet.

Group classes make for a fun, educational bonding experience for couples and their guests. At Le Chat Gourmet, visitors can learn how to make three- or four-course meals and later indulge in them with their classmates. Perfect for smaller groups, this is an ideal activity to fill in an Eaton Rapids wedding weekend itinerary!

5. Hit the fairways.

Here in central Michigan, we are home to a number of gorgeous golf courses that any golfer would be clamoring to visit while here for a wedding at The Northfork Estate. Bonnie View Golf Course, Ironwood Links, Eldorado Golf Course, and Eagle View Golf Club are all less than 30 minutes away from our Eaton Rapids wedding venue.

6. Go for a drive.

Eaton Rapids is central to a number of surrounding cities that are worth visiting! The Northfork Estate is just 30 minutes from Lansing, 45 minutes from Battle Creek, and just over an hour from Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor. Northfork couples and their guests can fit in a half-day or day trip to any of these cities and still be back in time for dinner!
